Liese Kingma has been the main curator and projectlead of the FREI[T]RÄUME / ENVISIONING FREE SPACE conference since 2016. She has been uniting artists, activists, cultural spaces, and urban change makers; building and implementing the much needed bridges between self organized, socio cultural actors and local governments to develop formats of more participative and sustainable access to space. Besides her work as main project lead and curator of the EFS conference, she is a project developer for the Space of Urgency platform.
For SOU she is currently advising the development of the Free Space Policy in Amsterdam and is active in international projects such as Spaces of Adaptation, The Next Generation of Cultural Spaces and is currently active in conceptualisation of spatial and participative processes on the ground in Amsterdam, Berlin, South Tyrol, stretching to Southern and Eastern Europe - gathering visionary artists and policy makers together to serve the health and vibrancy of their cultural ecosystems.
