Simon van Dommelen is the founder and director of the LOLA Foundation in the Amsterdam region and the LOU Foundation in Utrecht and surrounding areas. He focuses on developing social and creative breeding grounds with public facilities in vacant real estate. Simon was trained as a cultural scientist and later obtained a master's degree in Strategic Urban Development. He was the founder and director of the Noorderpark Trust, a neighborhood business in Amsterdam North. Simon was also one of the initiators of the Cultural Defense Line of Amsterdam.
