I am a long time queer and trans activist in Amsterdam. Since the 1980s I have seen spaces coming and going. Movements rose and fell. Venues came and went. I stayed, watched, joined and left initiatives. I have been an assistant city councillor in Amsterdam for BIJ1 during the last five years and organised the first trans interventions in queer Amsterdam in the early 2000s
